I currently work as a news anchor for the Hispanic media outlet “Univision” in San Diego, California, and also as an independent communications and media consultant. But my professional career started far from here, in my native country, Venezuela, where I landed my first job in the news at the age of 20.
After a few years working in the news, I transitioned to the corporate world and started working for a multinational law firm leading their communications department. During that time, I coached lawyers on public speaking and handled all aspects of communications and media relations for one of the biggest law firms in Venezuela, ARAQUEREYNA.
In 2012, I moved to the US and started working for the Hispanic media station “Estrella TV” in Los Angeles, California. I started as a local news anchor and 2 years later became the network evening news anchor (national news). While working there, I interviewed multiple guests with national relevance, from members of Congress, to actors and, athletes, and community leaders.
In 2016 I started collaborating with different non-profits with their communications needs. That eventually took me to work with individuals and private entities, as well, outside of the newsroom. My focus is to help organizations get their message across effectively and guide individuals to communicate with impact and confidently in any situation: in front of a camera, during a podcast or a digital interview, in front of a big audience or just one person.
Still in California, but a bit further south, I moved to San Diego in 2018. Living in 'America's Finest City,' I have worked coordinating communications for "America's Voice," a non-profit based in Washington D.C., handling public relations for San Diego-based marketing agency, Ameba, and as a news reporter for Telemundo/NBC. In this last role, I had the opportunity to interview several important figures in the political arena, like Democratic Primary Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders. I also covered several stories with national impact for several local Telemundo stations across the nation.
