My name is Adriana Ruggiero Robinson. I live in Southern California with my husband and daughter. However, my story started in a town on the Caribbean: in a small beach town called Puerto La Cruz, in my native Venezuela.
There, I grew up listening to the stories of my inspiring grandparents. My grandfather, who got on a boat leaving his native Italy to escape the devastation of World War II, and my brave grandmother who fled Cuba looking for a better life. I like to think that their courage and sense of adventure are a part of who I am today.
In Venezuela I attended Law School, achieved a Masters Degree in Marketing and began my career in the news and communications. Yes, all very different areas, that today add value and influence everything I do.
I moved to the United States in 2012. Living in a new country was challenging in the beginning, but the strength of my grandparents inspired me to keep my head up.
However, in 2016 while going through a very rough time financially and personally, I felt into a deep depression. This was the darkest but also the most defining chapter in my life.
In the process of getting out of the dark hole I was in, I realized I had spent my whole life learning skills, achieving degrees and goals, reading books, but never paused to learn about the most important subject: ME.
